what heaven tastes like...in slushie form

holidays are the best - in case you didn't already know. we are on a two week break from work and haven't had any huge plans which is so nice. we would have loved gone to visit some of toms side of the family but flights around this time of year are ridiculous! like more than double - how is that justified, i mean really?!

I hit the craft store the other day to get supplies for a present i'm making my sister for her birthday coming up in January and everything 'christmas' was 75% off!! I came home with this haul - - - >

and then had one of those realizations that i've become my mother.. oh well. I'm excited for next christmas already! (also because half my family will be moving to the other side of the world this time next year *i'm sad about that part* but it means they'll be going to COLD winters/snow so i can hand make them cue beanies/mittens/scarves etc for their presents! - yes craft nerd here).

the other day we packed the car and headed off into the sunset (well not really, it was only 4pm) up to my parents house. the holiday traffic had been super bad so we were expecting a 7-8 hour drive but i think everyone left before we did so we had a smooth 5 hour drive...nice! suckers to all those who were stuck in the traffic earlier in the day.

but seriously check out the electrical storm that was brewing at the last place we stopped on our drive... I love a good storm, that's a real Australian summer to me - super hot day with a big storm rolling over in the afternoon - bliss!

Oh and seriously, if you are in Australia i'm not usually one to promote McDonalds (especially because i can't eat anything they sell - except diet coke) but you HAVE to try the new Passionfruit slushie... it seriously was the BEST end to our road trip and we even went especially to the other side of town today just to get one (i can't believe i just admitted that to the world but they are THAT good!)

Do it!
You will not regret it (if you like Passionfruit soda that is)
